Adults who have never skated as well as adults who learned to skate as children are all welcome in our Learn To Skate classes, which offer a structured program tailored especially to meet the needs of adult skaters. Adult skating offers an enjoyable way of staying fit and healthy, and there are also many opportunities for adults to compete at the local or national level. Learn to Skate Winter 2019 classes will begin on Wednesday, January 9h, and Saturday, January 12th, 2019. It is a 10 week session. Classes will follow US Figure Skating's Learn To Skate USA curriculum and will be run by and taught by ICEFSC club coaches. Each class will be 25 minutes of structured instruction, followed by 25 minutes of supervised free/practice time. All levels from beginners (Snowplow Sam) through Free Skate will be offered. As skaters master the basic elements of the sport of figure skating, those who wish to progress further in the sport may elect to become a full member of the ICEFSC and pursue private lessons. A variety of membership options are available, including a one time, special, reduced rate, introductory membership available to skaters who have held only Super Skaters/Basic Skills/Learn To Skate level memberships, before becoming a full ICEFSC member. The ICEFSC membership year runs from July 1st to June 30th.
